Dick Crawford's 100th Birthday Celebration

Dick's Celebration was held Sunday July 27th 2025 at the River Run community club house.
We were very fortunate to have the Sebastian Veterans Honor Guard attend marching in the colors and gave Dick a heartfelt thank you for his military service and a Birthday Celebration Performance complete with song and Congratulations .After retiring the colors, Dave Owens, one of our members and a very accomplished BagPipe player, played several tunes including Happy Birthday and the Air Corp Anthem. Dick's Son gave a very insightful presentation about Dick, I knew about some of Dick's WWII service, but it was surprising to hear that the second time he was shot down they crash landed on a resort island held by the allies. Indian River County representative, Laura Moss presented Dick with a beautiful proclamation plaque commemorating his 100th Birthday. Dr Womack, the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, spoke about Dick's contributions and his tenure as a Deacon. We then all toasted Dick and were able to have warm conversations with one another. This was a memorable event and we thank Gail Crawford and the rest of the family for their hard work and inviting the Scottish Society to attend.
